Glee Club honors Purdue's World Food Prize laureatesPresident Mitch Daniels; Akinwumi Ayodeji Adesina, Purdue alumnus and World Food Prize laureate; and Bill Griffel, Purdue Musical Organizations director, stand with members of the Purdue Varsity Glee Club during the World Food Prize Laureate Award Ceremony on Thursday (Oct. 19) at the Iowa Capitol. The Glee Club performed "Hail Purdue" to honor all three of Purdue's World Food Prize laureates: Adesina, Gebisa Ejeta and Philip Nelson. Glee Club members departed from West Lafayette early Thursday to perform and then traveled back overnight to return in time for classes Friday. Adesina will join Daniels at 6:30 p.m. today (Oct. 23) in Stewart Center’s Loeb Playhouse for the Presidential Lecture Series.
