Annual open letter from President Daniels

In his annual open letter to the Purdue community, President Mitch Daniels shares that 2019, our sesquicentennial year, will be a year of strategic decision making, particularly in terms of the optimal future size of the university, how we expect our future student population to be distributed across the various colleges, and how we will continue to help our students succeed and graduate in a timely manner.

New National Academy of Inventors fellow

Mark Cushman, a distinguished professor of medicinal chemistry in Purdue’s College of Pharmacy, has been elected a fellow of the National Academy of Inventors. Fellows of the NAI are inventors on U.S. patents who have been nominated by their peers for outstanding contributions in patents and licensing, noteworthy discovery, significant effect on society, and support and enhancement of innovation.

Stefon Harris & Blackout to perform on Jan. 18

Vibraphonist Stefon Harris and his ensemble, Blackout, come to Loeb Playhouse on Jan. 18 for an 8 p.m. performance. This performance is presented by Purdue Convocations as part of the Purdue Jazz Festival, which runs Jan. 17-19.
