No. 3 seed Purdue moves on to the Sweet 16

The Purdue men's basketball team advanced to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA tournament with an 81-71 win over Texas on Sunday (March 20). The Boilermakers next will play St. Peter's at 7 p.m. Friday (March 25). Purdue will be making its fourth Sweet 16 appearance in the last five tournaments.

Night and day difference: Circadian clock may protect aging eyes

While bright light helps us see better, our eyes need darkness for better vision. Light breaks down the sensitive machinery of our eyes every day, and during the darkness of night, key pieces are rebuilt. The clock of our circadian rhythms runs this process, and researchers have found that if the clock is disrupted, our eyes may be at greater risk of retinal degeneration as we age.

Purdue's Anvil supercomputer levels up in capacity, impact

Purdue’s supercomputing power has leveled up in strength and speed with its new Anvil supercomputer. The new capacity will allow Purdue to contribute to the nation’s 21st-century research agenda by simultaneously powering scientific computational and data-driven tools at multiple universities. Anvil has facilitated work from over 20 institutions in its first four months of operation.

The Purdue Polytechnic High School origins story

After recognizing too few minority high school students were academically prepared for the challenge of postsecondary education at Purdue University, President Mitch Daniels and university leaders took action. A new high school -- Purdue Polytechnic High School -- was created for K-12 Indiana students who are underserved by traditional high schools and underrepresented in higher education.
