Purdue’s online engineering programs gain overall in U.S. News rankings of Best Online Programs

Purdue University online engineering increased its overall standing and remained No. 1 in four categories, placing it among the nation’s elite in the newest U.S. News & World Report rankings of the Best Online Programs. The rankings, released today (Jan. 24), have the university’s full array of online engineering graduate programs at No. 2, up from No. 3 in 2022, while Purdue remains in the No. 1 spot in four specific categories. Kiana Skobel is using her fashion-forward talents to help her fellow Purdue students look good — all while earning internship credits. The sophomore in the College of Health and Human Sciences is an intern at the Career Closet, a feature of the Purdue Center for Career Opportunities. This free resource assists students by providing donated business clothes just in time for career fairs, job interviews and internship opportunities.

Researchers aim to create portable pathogen, toxin detection device

An estimated 48 million people in the United States experience foodborne illness each year, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. A research team at the Purdue University Cytometry Laboratories is working on a number of separate but interrelated projects funded by grants from the USDA to develop rapid diagnostics for pathogen detection, food safety and organism identification.
