Applications are open for the 2023 Tyler Trent Courage and Resilience Award

The Tyler Trent Courage and Resilience Award is now accepting applications until Feb. 20. The memorializing scholarship honors Tyler Trent, remembered for his courageous battle with cancer and his contagious enthusiasm for the Purdue football team, and recognizes undergraduate students at Purdue’s West Lafayette campus who have encountered serious physical or similarly daunting adversity in their pursuit of higher education.

Tiffany Stergar is always searching for ways for herself — and others — to grow as a professional. Stergar, the assistant director of advising professional development in the Purdue University Undergraduate Academic Advising office, has engaged in countless professional development activities like committees, workshops and programs during her seven years as a Purdue employee. But last spring, she discovered a new way to fund her passion for learning: through professional development grants offered by the Management and Professional Staff Advisory Committee (MaPSAC). Midwestern Regional Climate Center identifies top weather events

The Midwest saw nearly all areas of weather extremes in 2022. The Midwestern Regional Climate Center has established a list of the top 10 most memorable and impactful events for the year. The center weeded through dozens of storms and weather waves that struck the Midwest, selecting the top 10 weather events by logical significance and economic and social impacts.
