Ukraine Scholars Initiative expands and receives Heritage Group gift

A Purdue University program launched in March to provide Ukrainian scholars an opportunity to continue their academic pursuits here during the ongoing Russian invasion of their home country has received a grant from The Heritage Group to extend the initiative into May 2024.

Mara Faccio, the Tom and Patty Hefner Chair in Finance and professor of management, will discuss “Politics and Finance: International Evidence” at the next Westwood Lecture Series on March 1. Purdue alum keeps ‘Pandora – The World of Avatar’ flying at Disney

A dream of working with special effects led Angel Price (BS mechanical engineering technology ’07) to Purdue’s Polytechnic Institute. Today as senior manager of engineering services at Walt Disney World Resort, Price leads a team of over 90 people at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, including engineers, mechanics and ride show technicians.

Purdue staff member to serve on Indiana Veterans Affairs Commission

Veterans Success Center director Morgan Torres recently was invited to serve on the Indiana Veterans' Affairs Commission. The commission consists of seven members appointed by the governor. In the role, Torres will help facilitate connection points between the commission and students who receive military benefits.
