The world’s whitest paint, developed by Purdue University researchers and recognized in Guinness World Records, has been named winner of the 2023 Innovation Award in the sustainability category by South by Southwest Conference & Festivals (SXSW).

Holcomb joins panel discussion for Purdue Road School

Indiana Gov. Eric J. Holcomb was a featured guest at the 109th Purdue Road School Transportation Conference and Expo on March 14-15, which drew more than 3,000 attendees. Executive Vice President for Research Karen Plaut welcomed participants during the opening session in Loeb Playhouse. Holcomb was then joined by Michael Smith, Indiana Department of Transportation commissioner, and Chris Jensen, mayor of the city of Noblesville, in a fireside chat moderated by Richard Hedgecock, president of Indiana Constructors Inc. A Purdue team led by Natalia Dudareva, Distinguished Professor of Biochemistry in Purdue’s College of Agriculture, and John Morgan, professor in the Davidson School of Chemical Engineering, has published new details about molecular processes that allow petunias to emit scent chemicals called volatile organic compounds.
