An agriculture-related project at Purdue has created an open-source framework and community for sharing data and algorithms with the goal to improve sustainable food and agricultural systems to help feed the growing world population. The Open Ag Technology and Systems (OATS) Center, launched in 2018 with funding from the Foundation for Food and Agriculture Research and key industry partners, has made an enormous impact on stakeholders and students far beyond the West Lafayette campus.

A supportive professor, an immersive project and lessons that prepare for postgraduation life – MET 34900 strikes a chord with students. Better known as “guitar lab,” the course combines manufacturing with musical instruments for a one-of-a-kind college experience that results in a hand-built guitar.
Theresa Morgan (IT Customer Relations and Process Management) has always been professional and helpful, especially so in the recent month with helping the Purdue Language and Cultural Exchange (PLaCE) find new lab space for our large-scale language assessment sessions, given that our current language testing lab will no longer be available after this semester. She went above and beyond in brainstorming options, talking to other groups involved and giving timely updates. She is superb! – Lixia Cheng (College of Liberal Arts)
