There is a mysterious moment when liquids turn into vapor, such as when tiny bubbles form in a flowing liquid. Modeling this complex flow requires huge supercomputers, which rely on very specific parameters. Purdue University researchers have pioneered a more efficient mathematical method to model this phase change, reducing the computing power needed and expanding its application to a broader-size scale.
