Forgive Charlotte Yeung if she talks a bit fast. In rapid succession she recounts a list of accomplishments, aspirations, and honors that seem possible only when fueled with such enthusiasm and boundless energy. The sophomore is already a published author, arts activist, museum board member, and the Indiana Youth Poet Laureate. Her most recent honor: being named a Frederick Douglass Fellow through a program of the Center for International Educational Exchange.
As a specialist in diagnosing and managing diseases of horticultural crops, Janna Beckerman is among Purdue Extension specialists in wide-ranging fields who translate research to application for stakeholders statewide. In turn, grower input informs her research. Beckerman’s research focuses on how different fungicides perform, including sequences or combinations as well as application techniques, to optimize how growers use these products.
As one of the many family-friendly campus community activities to come, Purdue President Mung Chiang and First Lady Kei Hui on Sunday (April 2) hosted two Easter egg hunts at Westwood for faculty and staff families with children ages 3-10. One hundred Boilermaker families took part in the egg hunts as well as activities that included arts and crafts, face painting and photographs.
