As the third dimension of the Purdue Computes initiative, Purdue’s Board of Trustees recently approved Phase 1 $49 million of the $100 million plan for semiconductor research and learning facilities.

David Warsinger, assistant professor of mechanical engineering who pioneered a new process called “batch reverse osmosis,” has received a grant from the U.S. Department of Energy to build a pilot project demonstrating its real-world effectiveness.
Petros Drineas, professor and associate head of the Department of Computer Science, has been named a 2023 fellow by the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics. He was recognized for pioneering contributions to all aspects of randomized numerical linear algebra: research, applications, advocacy and outreach. Fellows are nominated for their exemplary research as well as outstanding service to the community.

The Purdue Contemporary Dance Company, housed in the Patti and Rusty Rueff School of Design, Art, and Performance in Yue-Kong Pao Hall, will present seven new works by dance faculty, three select student artists and a PCDC alumni artist on April 28-29. The Division of Dance and the Department of Theatre faculty and students collaborate intensively to create original art on the stage, and to prepare students for careers in these performative disciplines.
