Purdue University doesn’t just teach environmental consciousness. The Big Ten university is doing something about it by reducing its water use by one-third in the last 11 years, planting 2,000 trees since 2020 and adding nearly 7 miles of bicycle infrastructure.
The Purdue University Institute for Cancer Research is beginning a four-pronged attack against a deadly form of cancer called multiple myeloma, to be carried out over two years with $4.3 million from the Paula and Rodger Riney Foundation. The funding will support research that promises insights and potential novel treatments to lengthen and improve the quality of life for people with multiple myeloma.

The American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) recently announced that the recipient of the 2023 AVMA Humane Award is Candace Croney, professor of animal behavior and well-being and director of the Center for Animal Welfare Science at Purdue. Croney holds a joint appointment in the colleges of Veterinary Medicine and Agriculture. The award recognizes Croney for her exceptional dedication and contributions to the field of animal welfare.
