Purdue University President Mung Chiang will highlight the university’s major presence in Indianapolis and in state-wide innovation ecosystems at the upcoming Rally innovation conference in downtown Indianapolis. The global cross-sector innovation conference takes place Aug. 29-31 at the Indiana Convention Center.

Researchers, led by physical chemistry professor Libai Huang, have identified the critical role that quantum interference plays in chemical processes like photosynthesis and transporting energy in solar cells. The team published its findings in Nature Chemistry over the summer.

New students moved into residence halls and participated in Purdue’s welcome week experience: Boiler Gold Rush and Boiler Gold Rush International. BGRi and BGR featured jam-packed days of programming aimed at successfully transitioning students to college life. All faculty and exempt staff on the West Lafayette campus will receive an email today (Aug. 28) requiring them to indicate their status of Reportable Outside Activities. By Sept. 15, individuals must certify that they have no Reportable Outside Activities or have disclosed all that exist, and they must fill out the Reportable Outside Activities Form if required.
