David Malpass, former president of the World Bank and one of the world’s most experienced economic leaders, will join Purdue University starting Jan. 1, 2024. Malpass will serve as the Distinguished Fellow of International Finance at the Mitchell E. Daniels, Jr. School of Business and as the Inaugural Fellow of Global Business and Infrastructure at Purdue@DC.

A team of researchers, including Kurt Ristroph, assistant professor of agricultural and biological engineering at Purdue, is developing new formulations and manufacturing processes for the messenger RNA (mRNA) delivery systems used in some COVID vaccines. Their work could help create more shelf-stable storage for the vaccines and mRNA lipid nanoparticles designed for other therapeutic uses.
The Summer Fun program in the Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences is offered to children ages 4 to 5 who have undergone initial screenings that indicate they have developmental language disorder. The program is centered around fun, play-based activities that focus on language, as well as clinical therapy.
