Purdue is hosting a first-of-its-kind reunion for alumni innovators and entrepreneurs. The inaugural Entrepreneurial Alumni Reunion began Thursday (Nov. 9) and runs through Saturday (Nov. 11). The event convenes experts from Purdue leadership, successful Boilermaker alumni and emerging startups ready to make an impact on the world.
Justin Weibel, professor of mechanical engineering, has been elected a Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. Weibel’s research topics include electronics cooling and packaging, phase-change transport phenomena, energy efficiency in thermal systems, transport in porous materials, and microscale diagnostics and sensing.
Purdue’s Department of Theatre will present “Faustus, That Damned Woman” today through Nov. 19 at the Carole and Gordon Mallett Theatre in Pao Hall. Johanna Faustus makes a bargain with the devil, promising to deliver her soul for the chance to make right her mother’s death. Her journey becomes so much more as she attempts to claim mastery of her own person and over time itself.
Josefine Eskildsen’s racing career is accelerating as rapidly as the 350-horsepower touring cars she works on with Bryan Herta Autosport. The 22-year-old was a key member of a team that won a series-best three races in the International Motorsports Association Michelin Pilot Challenge. Eskildsen is the latest success story from the motorsports engineering program in the Purdue School of Engineering and Technology in Indianapolis.
International Education Week (Nov. 13-17) will showcase the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide. This year, various colleges and units at Purdue have come together to plan a week of activities, lectures and experiences that celebrate diversity, intercultural learning, and international research and partnerships.
