Purdue University's JARVIS team was recently named one of the 11 finalists in NASA's Spacesuit User Interface Technologies for Students challenge. Their mission: design user interfaces, software for spacesuits and a mission control console for use on the surface of Mars.
Professor Steven Collicott’s long-running AAE418 Zero-Gravity Flight Experiment course launched an experiment aboard a Blue Origin rocket on Tuesday (Dec. 19). The 2D-Slosh experiment ran for several years in AAE418, and dozens of students, many of whom are now alumni, have worked on it.
President Mung Chiang has announced the spring lineup for the Westwood Lecture Series, which provides an opportunity for university faculty to interact with colleagues on scholarly work from a wide range of fields. Space for each event is limited to the first 50 faculty who register online. Registration will be available beginning two weeks prior to each lecture.

Purdue’s Office of the Vice Provost for Teaching and Learning has issued draft guidance on the use of artificial intelligence in Purdue courses and learning environments for spring 2024, with input from University Senate leadership, the Ad Hoc Committee on AI, the Center for Instructional Excellence, and the Innovation Hub. Faculty and staff teaching Purdue courses may submit feedback on the draft guidance via a Qualtrics survey through Dec. 31.
