A new three-year contract marks the return of Purdue Employees Federal Credit Union and the entry of Huntington Bank ATMs to the main floor and Sweet Shop area of the Purdue Memorial Union. NBD, the sole campus ATM provider for the past three years, also will remain in the Union.
The agreement also establishes new ATM service in Stewart Center from both PEFCU and Huntington Banks. In addition, PEFCU was awarded the contract to provide ATMs in five residence halls, which have offered this service since 1994. The residence halls are Owen, Shreve, Wiley, Hillenbrand and Harrison.
James E. Benken, director of investments, said the change reflects the university's awareness of the banking service needs of the campus community.
"The new agreement gives more people the opportunity to do their banking on campus without having to pay an ATM service charge for using other banks' machines. Having three banks available in the Union provides much greater access to the ATM of your own bank," he said.
The ATMs in the Union and Stewart Center will offer full service. The machines in the residence halls will be cash-dispensing only.
