Purdue Christmas Show tickets go on sale

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Tickets for the 1998 Purdue Musical Organizations Christmas Show go on sale to the public Monday (10/5).

The 65th annual Christmas Show hits the stage six times in three days in Elliott Hall of Music:

  • Friday, Dec. 11 at 8 p.m.
  • Saturday, Dec. 12 at noon, 4 p.m. and 8 p.m.
  • Sunday, Dec. 13 at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m.

Ticket prices are $16 for adults, $14 for Purdue students and $12 for high-school students or younger. They are available at Purdue box offices, (765) 494-3933, or from Purdue Musical Organizations at (765) 494-3941 or 1-800-893-3041.

Late last year the American Bus Association, the trade organization of the motorcoach industry, named the Christmas Show one of the Top 100 events in North America for 1998. Thousands of people from throughout the Midwest visit campus annually for the show, which plays to sell-out audiences.

A December tradition since the 1930s, the Christmas Show presents a spectrum of holiday songs and scenery that celebrate both the popular and the religious aspects of the Christmas season. The show features the student members of the PMO ensembles: the Varsity Glee Club, Purduettes, University Choir, PMO Express and the Purdue Bell Choir. Members from past shows will be featured in an alumni choir.

Brian Breed, director of Purdue Musical Organizations, will direct the show for the 10th consecutive year.
