The company is now divided into Simulex Federal and Simulex Global divisions. "Simulex Federal will focus on serving governmental clients in the United States and Simulex Global will focus on national and international companies," said Alok Chaturvedi, founder, chairman and CEO of Simulex. The open house will be from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in the company's new location at LakeView Technology Center, 3482 McClure Ave. France A. Córdova, Purdue University president; Joseph B. Hornett, senior vice president, treasurer and COO of the Purdue Research Foundation; and Chaturvedi; are expected to speak at the event. "The move to this expanded location is a milestone for Simulex, as it will support our new divisions and our continued growth," said Chaturvedi, who also is a Purdue professor of management. "In addition to our headquarters in West Lafayette, Ind., we have offices in San Francisco, Atlanta and Norfolk, Va., and a subsidiary in India." The company's technology is used by the U.S. Joint Forces Command, Naval Air Command, U.S. Army Recruiting Command and Fortune 500 companies. Besides national and homeland security, companies use the Simulex Synthetic Environments for Analysis and Simulation (SEAS) data to make market segments more profitable and determine the best time to introduce a new product or technology. Chaturvedi received Purdue's 2007 Outstanding Commercialization Award, which is sponsored by the Central Indiana Corporate Partnership. He also is founder and former director of the Purdue Homeland Security Institute at Discovery Park. The 26,000-square-foot LakeView Technology Center was dedicated in November. The building was developed by Stephen Shook, managing member of the Lafayette, Ind.-based SRZ McClure Development I LLC, the organization that owns the facility. Simulex occupies 8,000 square feet. The center also houses a 7,800-square-foot MRI center, called InnerVision West, which provides a 3-Tesla MRI scanner. The MRI center is a partnership among Purdue University, Purdue Research Foundation, St. Elizabeth Regional Health, Unity Health Care and GE Healthcare.
About Simulex Simulex, which was established in 1999, currently has 40 employees. The company provides fully functioning synthetic environments that enable government and business customers to gain insights into complex situations. The technology, called Synthetic Environments for Analysis and Simulation (SEAS), was developed at Purdue and is the business analogue of military war gaming. It provides continuously running artificial theaters consisting of interlinked individuals, organizations, institutions, infrastructures and geographies. These theaters are populated with virtual entities with parameters established by real-world data. Within these theaters, customers can anticipate and shape competitive reactions to their actions and consequently predict and evaluate future courses of action. Simulex is currently developing technologies to move towards an ongoing simulation of the world in which participants can work collaboratively to share data, experiences and knowledge through a common repository. All participants will instantly gain access to expertise in a seamless, integrated environment that is constantly updated with and validated by real-world research, data and trends.
