November 5, 2009 Old Masters visit Purdue Nov. 8-10WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Ten leaders in a variety of fields will visit Purdue University Nov. 8-10 for the 60th annual Old Masters program, which will give students the opportunity to interact with successful professionals.The Old Masters program, which is sponsored by the Office of the Dean of Students, got its start in 1950. Since then, more than 500 Old Masters have visited campus and shared their ideas and experiences with students. The Old Masters Meet and Greet reception will take place at 7:30-10 p.m. Monday (Nov. 9) in the Purdue Memorial Union's North Ballroom. The reception is open to Purdue faculty, staff and students. The Old Masters Central Committee will introduce this year's Old Masters, and the Purdue Varsity Glee Club will perform. Following the event, attendees will have a chance to visit with the Old Masters. Refreshments will be served. The Old Masters opening ceremonies, which is an invitation-only event, will be broadcast live online at https://www.purdue.edu/oldmasters at 7 p.m. Sunday (Nov. 8). The live broadcast also will air on Boiler Television and Comcast's Channel 5. The Old Masters also will visit classrooms and student organizations, share informal meals, and talk with students while on campus for the program. The 2009 Old Masters are: * Robert Bowen, founder and owner of Bowen Engineering Corp. * Ronald Carpinella, vice president of identity management at Equifax. * Charles Conner, president and CEO of the National Council of Farmer Cooperatives. * Ronald Dollens, retired president and CEO of Guidant Corp. * Debra Hockemeyer, president of Western Ridge Consulting Inc. * Patricia Houghton, owner and general manager of Heartland Cattle Co. * Anthony Kolton, co-founder and CEO of Logical Information Machines Inc. * Maurice Markey, vice president of Private Brands at Sam's Club. * Donald McMonagle, vice president of NASA Programs for Raytheon Missile Systems. * Rear Adm. Carol M. Pottenger, Commander, Navy Expeditionary Combat Command, U.S. Navy.
