Dr. Beth McCuskey Beth McCuskey

Vice Provost for Student Life

As the Vice Provost for Student Life at Purdue University, Beth McCuskey serves as the senior student affairs officer, overseeing a broad range of departments dedicated to supporting student success. In this role, she works to emphasize the lifelong benefit of an educational experience through environments, culture, people and programs. She oversees 13 departments, which include the University’s two largest student employers, that serve Purdue’s 40,000+ students—13,000 of whom live on campus.

Beth earned her bachelor’s, two master’s and a doctoral degree from West Virginia University. Her dissertation, completed in 2003, was titled “Strategies for the Future of the University Housing Profession: A Delphi Study.”

In addition to Purdue, Beth has worked at WVU and the University of Wyoming. She has served as a faculty member at numerous institutions. She has co-authored a book and written several articles and chapters in other publications. Beth has served as the Chair of the ACUHO-I Foundation Board and as the AIMHO President. She recently concluded her term as the ACUHO-I President.

Beth enjoys giving back to her community. She is co-chair to the Greater Lafayette/Purdue Town & Gown committee and serves on the Lafayette Symphony Orchestra Board, The Quality of Life Council, The University Place Advisory Board and several Purdue committees and groups.

While she loves to travel, Beth is a homebody at heart, loving to decorate, collect antiques, and putter around in her garden. She loves to power walk, stinks at running, practices yoga and would like to shave a few strokes off her golf game by pursuing the ever elusive hole-in-one.
