ESE Ecological Sciences and Engineering

At Purdue University, Ecological Sciences and Engineering (ESE) stands out as an innovative interdisciplinary graduate program. ESE students become integral members of both an academic department and an interdisciplinary community, fostering collaboration and enhancing the scope and depth of their studies.

ESE Symposium

"The Future of WATERS" 2024 Symposium will explore six critical themes around water: Wellbeing, Access, Technology, Ecological Impacts, Resilience, and Sustainability, addressing issues such as water quality, security, policy, and access. Featuring transdisciplinary panel discussions, a keynote dialogue and book signing with New York bookseller Dan Egan, and a graduate poster competition, this two-day event aims to foster open dialogue on the multifaceted challenges facing the water sector and generate innovative solutions and strategies for a sustainable water future.

Open to the entire Purdue University, the Greater Lafayette community, and beyond, we invite students, faculty, staff, and the public to join us in exploring these critical issues. Check out our agenda for this year and mark your calendars for October 2-3, 2024!
