Parking and Transportation Access

Parking

Accessible Parking is available to students, staff, and visitors. Preference will be given to students and staff requests that clearly demonstrate a condition or impairment that substantially limits the applicant's mobility.

Visitors may park at metered disability spaces (blue and white handicap signs) with the appropriate license plate or official handicap placard displayed on the vehicle dashboard. To view the location of metered disability spaces, please refer to the Campus Parking Map.  All parking garages have disability parking spaces available including the visitor parking garage located on Grant Street. To utilize those spaces requiring an "A" permit and a disability license plate or official placard, visitors may purchase a daily permit at the rate of $5 from the Parking Facilities Office located in the Purdue West Shopping Center.

To report barriers located in parking lots and garages (e.g., broken elevators, icy access aisle, etc.), please contact Parking Facilities at (765) 494-9494 or parking@purdue.edu.

City Bus

Purdue University contracts with CityBus to offer “fare-free” rides on all CityBus routes for Purdue students, faculty, and staff with a valid Purdue I.D. card.  Information regarding schedules and routes on and off campus can be found on the CityBus website.  All CityBus buses are wheelchair accessible.  In addition, electronic information signs and audio announcements on most buses aid passengers with visual or hearing impairments. If needed, riders may ask the driver or any CityBus employee for assistance due to a disability.

ACCESS, the CityBus Paratransit Service operates the same hours and destinations as served by regular route buses and provides “curb to curb” service to locations within ¾ mile of a regular route for individuals who complete the application process and qualify for service.  Applications for ACCESS are available on the CityBus website.

Katy Dietrich, Travel Trainer at CityBus, is available to teach individuals how to ride the bus and can be contacted at katy@gocitybus.com or at (765) 420-2957.
