Create a PUID Step 1: Search

Creating the PUID

Search before create is the first step to take when creating a new PUID. A proper search insures that you really create a new PUID and do not accidentally introduce a duplicate person in the database.

Make certain you have essential information to make a good search. You need to know:

1. The first and last name of the person
2. The gender
3. Recommended: Their date of birth
4. Optional: Their HRID or Student Number

Enter this information on the search panel:



Click the Check for Matches button, and the SWI will start the search.
