Shawn A. Taylor
Shawn Taylor was appointed to the Board of Trustees on July 1, 2022. He currently serves as chair of the finance committee.
With a 30-year career as a successful CEO, industry leader and entrepreneur, Taylor has delivered value in a variety of environments from corporate to fast-growing, venture-backed startups to turnaround situations. He has diverse business experience with expertise in finance and the restaurant industry as an owner and board member of Noodles & Company.
Upon graduating from Purdue, Taylor began a 10-year career with Arthur Andersen & Co. in Dallas. He then moved to IDS Financial Services before joining Taco Bell Corp. and becoming one of its largest franchisees with 33 stores. He stepped into leadership roles primarily as a board member of the Franchise Management Advisory Council and as president of the Houston Association.
In 2010, along with other Houston business leaders, Taylor became a limited partner in the Houston Astros Major League Baseball franchise. After selling his interest in 2017, he served as advisor to the chairman for five years. The Astros won the World Series in 2017 and 2022.
Taylor earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting with distinction in 1982.
