Zeba Kokan

Undergraduate Student
Zeba Kokan is a Purdue Presidential Scholar studying Brain & Behavioral Sciences and Global Studies. As an Ambassador to Purdue University’s Division of Diversity and Inclusion, she founded the “Activating Inclusion: Cultural Hackathon” where students came together to address complicated social issues on campus. As Student Government Director of Diversity and Inclusion, she co-wrote the Diversity and Inclusion Action Plan that passed in the Purdue Student Senate. Her time as the President of the Purdue Muslim Student Association and Muslim Youth of North America's National Program Chair allowed her to address the social and spiritual needs of Muslims on campus and promote community, civic, and service engagement at the local and national level. Zeba aspires for a career at the intersection of global affairs, public health, and the social sciences. She was named a 2020 Truman Scholar for her commitment to public service, receiving a $30,000 scholarship to support graduate education. She is committed to using her platform to uplift the voices and stories of those underrepresented in public discourse.
