Cancer Research Day

The Purdue Institute for Cancer Research (PICR) annual Cancer Research Day is now held during fall semester. With over 200 scientists and scientists-in-training in attendance, the Fall 2024 Cancer Research Day took place on October 4, 2024, in the Purdue Memorial Union Ballrooms.

PICR was honored to welcome Forest White as this year's keynote speaker. White is a professor in the Biological Engineering Department at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), a member of the Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research at MIT, and a member of the MIT Center for Precision Cancer Medicine. His research focuses on high-resolution, quantitative characterization of intracellular proteome dynamics that regulate both normal and pathophysiological processes, with the ultimate goal of defining novel therapeutic targets and therapeutic combinations, advancing the field of cancer research.

Each year, Cancer Research Day features a trainee poster presentation session, as well as trainee speaker presentations. To participate in the poster presentation, trainees must submit their abstracts by the deadline. From the abstract submissions we receive, trainee speakers will be chosen to present.

We look forward to announcing the date and details for the Fall 2025 Cancer Research Day later this year.
