Decentralized Admissions Process

At Purdue University, graduate admission begins within the specific academic program to which you apply. Your application is carefully reviewed by the academic program through a holistic process that considers your academic credentials, test scores, letters of recommendation, career interests, personal background, and experiences. Once the academic program has completed its evaluation, it may recommend your admission. That recommendation is then reviewed by the Office of Graduate Students and Postdoctoral Scholars (OGSPS), which gives the final approval. When a decision is made, the Office of Graduate Admissions will communicate the official outcome to you directly.
Check Application Status
If you’re wondering about the status of your application, the best way to get accurate information is to contact the academic program itself; they’ll be able to provide the most relevant updates. The academic program updates your application checklist items, such as transcripts, letters of recommendation, and English proficiency, available in your status portal.
