Onboarding New Employees
Onboarding new hires contains three important elements.
- Onboard new employees with a welcome message and resources.
- Learn what a new hire will experience next, so you can help adjust their calendar.
- Take advantage of resources that will assist the new hire in getting off to a great start.

Supervisors can monitor new hire progress through the onboarding dashboard in SuccessFactors.
All new hires are required to complete their Form I-9 with three business days of their hire date. Learn more here.

- Provide the New First Steps Link to the new hire - so they know what to expect.
- After accepting the offer letter, the new hire receives an email to the data collection wizard. Once that is complete they receive another email linking to this Welcome web page that provide helpful information in order to create their career account and password and access systems.
Positions located in Indianapolis must have the Indianapolis role assigned to the position in order to initiate the IU credentialing process.

Staff:
- Newly hired staff are automatically assigned the New@Purdue Employee Experience online program.
- Supervisors and onboarding coordinators are encouraged to follow the Administrator program in order to best support their new hire.
Faculty:
- New Faculty Resources are located within the Faculty Affairs website.
Graduate Staff:
- Graduate Payroll Onboarding, Graduate Appointment Resources and Graduate Staff Enrollment are great resources for graduate staff.
