Course Evaluations
Purdue provides departments with midterm and end-of-semester student feedback through Course Evaluations & Surveys software. Evaluation requests are initiated by departments and adhere to guidelines set by the Office of the Provost and the University Senate. While these guidelines mandate evaluations for undergraduate courses with seven or more students, any class can conduct an online evaluation with departmental approval. Additionally, the guidelines specify university-wide questions for course evaluations.
History of Course Evaluations
Purdue’s experience with course evaluations began in the 1920’s at the urging of students. Read about this and the evolution of evaluations at Purdue in the “History of Evaluations.” The current evaluation software, Course Evaluations & Surveys was implemented in August 2020. For historical data from evaluations conducted before August 2020, please email idp@purdue.edu with the specific semester, instructor, and course section(s) you need.
Course Evaluations and Surveys Help Center
Course Evaluations and Surveys comes with an extensive Help Center that anyone with access to the evaluation software can utilize. It contains helpful articles and videos that explain how to use and get the most from the evaluation process.
