Purdue trustees approve negotiated CityBus contract agreement for 2024-25 academic year

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Purdue University trustees on Friday (Aug. 2) reviewed and approved the one-year contract agreement negotiated by Purdue and CityBus to continue providing on- and off-campus transportation services.

CityBus announced in April that Purdue-affiliated riders would have to pay $99 per semester for off-campus bus services. Under the new agreement, Purdue University will cover $74 of the semester pass, and members of the Purdue community will pay a subsidized rate of $25 to access off-campus routes.

On-campus routes will remain free to the Purdue community and do not require the purchase of a pass.

Students living in University Residences Boiler Apartments (URBA) off campus will not need to pay $25 for an off-campus semester pass.

“We are pleased we were able to work out a deal with CityBus to continue providing this service for members of the Boilermaker community,” said Jessica Robertson, associate vice president for Auxiliary Services. “Purdue understands the importance of reliable and affordable transportation, and we believe this agreement achieves both of those outcomes for the campus community.”

Information about how to obtain an off-campus pass will be forthcoming.
