  • “Synaptic Ultra-Structure and Experience (SUSE)”, led by Fang Huang, Reilly Associate Professor of biomedical engineering, with participation by Alexander Chubykin, associate professor of biological sciences, Jean-Christophe Rochet, professor of medicinal chemistry and molecular pharmacology and Stephanie Gardner, associate professor of biological sciences, targeting the NSF Science and Technology Centers: Integrative Partnerships.
  • “Research Center on Social Determinants of Health Informatics and Analytics”, led by Nan Kong, professor of biomedical engineering, with participation by Nicole Adams, clinical associate professor of nursing; Baijian Yang, professor of computer information technology; and Qiang Li, associate professor of management, targeting the ARPA-H HEalth care Rewards to Achieve Improved OutcomES (HEROES).
  • “Purdue Sustainable Aviation Center (PSAC)”, led by Li Qiao, professor of aeronautics and astronautics, with participation by Guillermo Paniagua-Perez, professor of mechanical engineering, Hua Cai, associate professor of industrial and environmental and ecological engineering, and Leifur Leifsson, assistant professor of aeronautics and astronautics, targeting NSF Engineering Research Centers.

Fall 2023

  • “Urban Computes: Towards an Emerging Integrative Urban Computing Expedition”, led by Daniel Aliaga, associate professor of computer science, with participation by Brady Hardiman, associate professor of Forestry and Natural Resources, and Melba Crawford, the Nancy Uridil and Frank Bossu Distinguished Professor in Civil Engineering, targeting the NSF Expeditions in Computing program
  • “Quantum Science Center (QSC) renewal”, led by Yong Chen, professor and director of Purdue Quantum Science and Engineering Institute, with participation by Sabre Kais, professor of chemistry, Vladimir Shalaev, the Robert and Anne Burnett Distinguished Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering; and Alexandra Boltasseva, the Ron & Dotty Gavin Tonjes Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering, targeting the DOE Quantum Science Center program
  • “From Data to Knowledge to Reasoning”, led by Wojciech Szpankowski the Saul Rosen Distinguished Professor of Computer Science, with participation by Ananth Grama, the Samuel Conte Professor of Computer Science; Simina Branzei, associate professor of Computer Science; and Alexandra Boltasseva, the Ron & Dotty Gavin Tonjes Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering, targeting the NSF AI Institutes program

  • “Structural and Molecular Determinants of Bunyavirus Particle Formation and Infectivity,” led by Richard Kuhn, Trent and Judith Anderson Distinguished Professor in Science and the Krenicki Family Director of the Purdue Institute of Inflammation, Immunology and Infectious Disease, with participation by Douglas LaCount, associate professor of medicinal chemistry and molecular pharmacology; Lauren Ann Metskas, assistant professor of biological sciences and chemistry; and Robert Stahelin, the Retter Professor of Pharmacy and professor of medicinal chemistry and molecular pharmacology, targeting the NIH-NIAID Investigator Initiated Program Project Applications (P01) program
