Purdue announces new funding for faculty seeking National Institutes of Health (NIH) R01 grants
October 15, 2024
The Office of Research has announced a new program that provides pilot funding to faculty members who are submitting applications for a second or third R01 grant. The program is known as the Purdue Multiple NIH R01 Award Program, or R012.
“We have created this funding program to further assist faculty to win multiple NIH R01 awards,” said Perry Kirkham, Purdue’s coordinator of NIH research development.
Applications from faculty serving as a principal investigator will be accepted on a rolling basis. Eligible PI/MPIs already holding at least one active NIH R01 grant are encouraged to apply. Questions about eligibility may be directed to Perry Kirkham at pkhirkam@purdue.edu.
The Office of Research continues to support several other pilot programs directed toward our NIH portfolio. These include:
- NIH New R01/U01 Program: Applications due by 5 p.m. ET on Dec. 6.
- NIH Competing Renewal R01 Program: Applications due by 5 p.m. ET on Dec. 6.
- NIH Training Grant Program: Applications accepted on a rolling basis.
Other funding opportunities are available on the Office of Research funding site.
