Karen Plaut - June Dimensions of Discovery Introduction
June 6, 2025
As many of you know, after 15 years at Purdue as associate dean for research, dean, and executive vice president for research, I will be retiring on June 30.
Having spent most of my career as a researcher and teacher, I am grateful for the work I had the privilege to do and the many talented and dedicated people who I have interacted with along the journey.
At Purdue, we all have the privilege of pursuing our passions in different disciplines, making strides to improve the world and preparing the next generation for what lies ahead.
As Purdue’s faculty, staff and students, you are at the heart of the university. You accomplish our land grant mission by making an impact on society.
You are all building remarkable legacies — whether by small steps or giant leaps. While no longer engaged in the everyday activities on campus, I will continue to applaud you in your research and teaching, and celebrate the impact you make on the world.
Thanks,
Karen
