A Message From Our Director

Dan Carpenter

Assistant Vice Provost for Student Success Innovations

I am pleased to share our annual report from Student Success Programs. The core of this report is a detailed overview of each of our eight programs, which are the result of our internal continuous improvement process. We combine these programmatic overviews into an annual report to be transparent about our work and invite opportunities to collaborate with partners across campus.

Here are a couple of themes that drove our work in the 2023-24 academic year:

  • Indianapolis. Almost every one of our programs has been involved in the launch of Purdue University in Indianapolis. Some have staff on-site in Indianapolis, extending their good work in person. Others are extending their reach in other ways. Whatever the approach, our role in the launch of Purdue in Indianapolis is a qualified success. Staff and student leaders are working hard to ensure all Boilermakers are served well, regardless of their location.
  • Change. Aside from the massive undertaking of Indianapolis, our programs are in a near-constant state of improvement. From new leaders and staff to evolving programmatic efforts, we are always pursuing improved student outcomes. You will see evidence of this in this high-level summary and  each of the program reports.

Please enjoy the report that follows, and reach out if you see an opportunity for us to work together in support of Purdue students. I am proud of this team's work as they have stepped up to every challenge presented. Here is to another great year serving Boilermakers!

Chris Krull

Executive Director of Teaching and Learning, Purdue University in Indianapolis

Introducing Indianapolis

A note from Chris Krull, Executive Director of Teaching and Learning in Indianapolis

July 1 marked the official beginning of Purdue’s expanding presence in Indianapolis, but August 13 was the day that truly brought it to life. On that day, we welcomed 595 Boiler Gold Rush Indianapolis participants into the Boilermaker family. Simultaneously, Student Success Programs launched essential support services through the Disability Resource Center, Academic Success and Purdue Promise.

I am proud to be part of a talented team that has developed innovative strategies and partnerships to ensure students in Indianapolis succeed. We cannot wait to see what the next year brings!
