Student Life Offices

Located on the third floor of the Engineering and Technology building, the Student Life office suite houses Associate Dean, Sara Dickey, and various support staff to help. The office is open Monday – Friday from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. You can contact the office at 765-495-7797 or visiting us in ET 331.

Student Government 

Purdue in Indianapolis students can get involved in Purdue Student Government as an undergraduate student or Purdue Graduate Student Government as a graduate student.

Leadership and Professional Development 

All Purdue students have the opportunity to take CliftonsStrengths Assessment to learn how to leverage your strengths to overcome challenges and reach your own personal, academic and career goals. Student Support Services

Many services and support systems are available at Purdue University to help students overcome obstacles. The Office of the Dean of Students at Purdue supports students as they navigate their college experience. We serve as a referral source for students regarding academic, personal, or financial concerns. Visit the student support website for more information.

Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS)

Students can initiate CAPS services by calling 765-494-6995 to schedule a brief phone screening appointment during which a clinician will gather information regarding the primary concern and collaborate with the student to make appropriate treatment recommendations (e.g., an initial consultation, group therapy, off-campus therapy, or other campus resources). 

A new web and app-based mental health resource is also now available courtesy of Purdue Counseling and Psychological Services.  TAO is free for all students, faculty, and staff using your Purdue log-in credentials.

Center for Advocacy, Response and Education (CARE)

The Center for Advocacy, Response and Education (CARE) provides free and confidential advocacy services to students who have experienced interpersonal violence (e.g., sexual violence, sexual exploitation, relationship violence, and stalking). Students can meet with CARE advocates from the CARE West Lafayette office either virtually, via phone, or in-person.

Student Of Concern

Faculty, staff, students or others concerned about a student's behavior are encouraged to report the concern to an appropriate university representative, the Office of the Dean of Students or submit a  Student of Concern Report.

Living on Campus

Housing

Purdue Mobile ID & Crimson Card

Purdue students in Indianapolis will need to have both a Purdue Mobile ID and affiliate Crimson Card. Learn more about how to get an affiliate Crimson Card here.

Transportation

Commuter Shuttles: For faculty, staff and students who will be spending time at both the West Lafayette and the Indianapolis campus locations, free commuter shuttle services will be available beginning August 12. 

Provided by Royal Excursion, six round trips will be offered daily during the week with a reduced schedule on the weekends during the fall and spring semesters. The 50-passenger buses are ADA compliant and include WiFi, collaboration spaces and restrooms.

The Rides2U app allows riders to reserve a seat and see when the shuttle is close to pick-up and drop-off locations. It is available through Google Play or the App Store. Purdue students, faculty and staff will need to create an account using their Purdue email. Using a Purdue email will ensure rides are free.

Student Health

Students in Indianapolis will have access to  IUI Indianapolis Campus Health , located at Lockefield Village (first floor), 980 Indiana Ave.

IUI Campus Health will include the same scope of practices and services available to IU Indianapolis students, including: general medicine, acute care, physical exams, wellness screening, women’s health, sexual health, immunizations and travel medicine.

Purdue students in Indianapolis will also have access to virtual health care/telehealth from Purdue University Student Health Service (PUSH).

IU Health University Retail Pharmacy is located in the University Hospital UH 1425, 550 N. University Blvd. Visit their website to transfer a prescription and learn more about their services.

Students can choose to have prescriptions filled at the pharmacy located on-campus in University Hospital, or can choose to fill their prescriptions at any local pharmacy in Indianapolis. 

Campus Recreation

Students in Indianapolis will have access to IU Indianapolis Campus Recreation by paying a $50 per semester fee (non-refundable). Access IU Indianapolis Campus Recreation here.

The recreation fee can be paid at the Jaguar Fitness Center, located in Campus Center 156 (accessible entrance on Theater Level).
