UNSA’s Technological Park for Arequipa

The Peruvian Congress approved the Arequipa’s Scientific and Technological Park managed by UNSA. The Peruvian Congress in its plenary session of October 15 of 2020, declared of national interest the creation Arequipa’s Technological Park. The proposal presented by UNSA had the full support of the congressional commissions of Education and that of Science, Innovation, and Technology. The Scientific and Technological Park project proposed by UNSA as a new ecosystem for research, innovation, and technological development for Arequipa and the South of Peru, has significant contributions from Purdue’s Discovery Park expertise and infrastructure. Dr. Rohel Sanchez Sanchez, Rector and Dr. Horacio Barreda Tamayo, Vice-Rector for Research visited Purdue in January of 2020 and discussed models of technological parks and long term mechanisms of collaboration between Purdue and UNSA through the Arequipa Nexus Institute.
