Purdue Distinguished Professor of Chemical Engineering, Rakesh Agrawal speaks on UNSA'S first International Seminar of Chemical Engineering, Science and Technology

November 30, 2020

Purdue Distinguished Professor of Chemical Engineering, Rakesh Agrawal, was the keynote speaker on UNSA'S first International Seminar of Chemical Engineering, Science and Technology on November 25 from 6:30-7:00 PM. He discussed the importance of sustainable sources of energy, and how to transition from a fossil fuel economy to an economy in solar energy.

The Arequipa-Nexus Institute suggested Dr. Agrawal for this event due to his expertise and passion in energy production issues from renewable sources. This virtual event is an initiative from Dr. Pavel Sarmiento, Director of the Chemical Engineering school at UNSA, UNSA faculty and students, and had the goal to familiarize students with the different areas of the chemical engineering field.

Dr. Agrawal has a broad experience in hydrogen production and purification technologies, and his research include modeling to find the role of biofuels as renewable energy source and solar energy. His research interests also include basic and applied research in process development, gas liquefaction processes, cryogenics, and thermodynamics.
