Nexus Institute social media shows remarkable engagement growth

May 21, 2021

The Purdue Arequipa Nexus Institute Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram platforms each reached over 100% more users in the last month, during which Nexus launched its Earth Day Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) social media campaign.

Arequipa Nexus Instagram page reached 216% more users in the last 30 days than the previous period, while the Facebook page experienced a growth in reach of 184% and Twitter 103%. The growth in reach demonstrates how Nexus’s online communications were seen by more users, which resulted in a growth in followers on each platform.

The growth followed the launch of Nexus’s Earth Day SDG social media campaign, which highlighted the ways in which Nexus aligns itself with the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals Action Campaign. This social media growth demonstrates the efforts of UNSA and Purdue researchers’ commitment. to international sustainable development research and connected the institute with the well-recognized United Nations campaign.

We would like to extend a special thank you to all the Nexus members from Purdue and UNSA for their contributions. We appreciate your willingness to provide pictures and content to showcase the Nexus research and activities on our social media platforms. Your efforts allow us to reach other organizations, researchers, students and professors, and bring awareness to our activities in Arequipa.
