The Purdue Office of the Provost has approved the following definition of Study Abroad:
"Study Abroad" is defined as any of a number of arrangements by which Purdue students complete part of their degree program through educational activities outside the United States.
Such activities include -- but are not limited to -- classroom study, research, intern- or externships, and service learning.
All such international educational activities need to be reported to the Office of Programs for Study Abroad by the relevant academic unit at Purdue.
