Purdue University Education Benefit for Purdue University Global Online Programs Guidelines
These guidelines apply to Purdue University Campus employees.
Purdue University provides an education benefit through Purdue University Global to all Purdue University Campus employees. This benefit is not guaranteed and may be changed or discontinued upon notice from Purdue University.
Purdue University benefit-eligible employees who have been continuously employed in a full-time or part-time capacity for a minimum of 30 calendar days are eligible for the education benefit as well as the staff member’s immediate family members. For the purposes of this education benefit, immediate family members are defined as spouses, children, step- children, sons/daughters-in-law, grandchildren, and step-grandchildren.
This benefit is also extended to Official Retirees and Surviving spouses & children as defined in policy VI.A.1

***In order to maintain eligibility for the education benefits, employees and immediate family members must maintain a minimum term GPA of 3.0. If the employee or immediate family member’s GPA falls below a 3.0 term-GPA two times anytime during their participation in the education benefits program, they will become permanently ineligible to receive future education benefits. GPA is evaluated at the end of each term when grades post. In the case of a retaken course, the original grade posted is used to determine the student’s education benefit eligibility. A term GPA will be calculated based on all grades received during the applicable term.
Undergraduate, Graduate, Certificate Programs:
Tuition discounts for eligible full-time and part-time Purdue University employees with at least 30 calendar days of service will be 100% of tuition (see “Fees” section for additional information), subject to eligibility requirements set forth in these guidelines.
Tuition discounts for immediate family members of employees who have met their eligibility period (30 calendar days of continuous employment) are:
Immediate Family = 50% discount off current tuition
Concord Law School:
Tuition discounts for eligible full-time Purdue University employees with at least 1-year of service or part-time Purdue University employees with at least 2-years of service will be 50% of tuition (see “Fees” section for additional information), subject to eligibility requirements set forth in these guidelines.
Tuition discounts for immediate family members of employees who have met their eligibility period (1-year full-time or 2-years part-time) are:
Immediate Family = 25% discount off current tuition
Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP):
Tuition discounts for eligible full-time and part-time Purdue University employees with at least 30 calendar days of service will be 50% of tuition, subject to eligibility requirements set forth in these guidelines.
Tuition discounts for immediate family members of employees who have met their eligibility period (30 calendar days of continuous employment) are:
Immediate Family = 25% discount off current tuition
Purdue University employees are not eligible to receive other scholarships or discounts offered by Purdue Global. Purdue University immediate family members are not eligible to receive other scholarships or discounts, with the exception of the Purdue Global Accelerated Scholars Award if they are enrolled in three courses per term.
The education benefit will cover textbook fees for Purdue University employees and their immediate family members who are enrolled in Undergraduate programs. All books for Graduate programs will remain the sole responsibility of the student.
Purdue University employees and their immediate family members will be responsible for all technology fees. Technology fees are assessed at the beginning of each and every term. Note: For Undergraduate programs only, the Technology fee is waived for Indiana Residents
Eligible immediate family members will be responsible for the one-time application fee where applicable (this fee is waived for employees).
Eligible Purdue University employees and immediate family members will be responsible for all other fees including administrative fees, drop fees, program-specific fees, and lab and clinical fees.
Purdue University employees and immediate family members must fulfill the following requirements:
- All first-term Undergraduate employees and immediate family members will enter the program under the “Purdue Global Commitment” program, and will enter the University under a conditional enrollment status. If a student successfully continues academically beyond week three of the first term, he/she will be fully admitted to the University. - Graduate student employees and immediate family members are not eligible for the Purdue Global Commitment program. They will be officially admitted at time of enrollment.
- Under the “Purdue Global Commitment” program, students who choose to withdraw from the program during this first three-week time frame, or students who do not pass the academic assessment period, will not be responsible for the tuition and fees.
However, the application fee where applicable is non-refundable. All other policies associated with the Purdue Global Commitment program will apply to employees and their immediate family members using their education benefit. - To continue to receive education benefits, employees and immediate family members must maintain a minimum term GPA of 3.0. - A Verification Form is only required prior to initial enrollment. As long as an employee remains in good standing, and meets the education benefit program requirements, he/she will continue to receive the benefit each term in which he/she is enrolled. See Process for Receiving Education Benefits below for more information.
- Cheating and plagiarism are serious offenses. Any such occurrence will prohibit further participation in education benefits for employees and/or immediate family members.
- In the case of an employee, such violation may result in disciplinary action.
- Evaluation of Purdue Global programs is critical to the goal of continuous transformation. Both active and previous employees and immediate family members who received education benefits may be asked to periodically provide feedback with respect to individual classes, terms, and/or their educational experience in the form of focus groups, surveys, etc. If requested, participation is mandatory to ensure optimal student success.
- Purdue University employees are required to complete a short FA Literacy Call or its equivalent prior to enrollment.
- Purdue University employees are required to complete a seven-minute Financial Literacy Webinar or its equivalent prior to enrollment.
- Purdue University employees and immediate family members are required to settle any prior unpaid balances due to Purdue Global, or be current on their Purdue Global payment plans, in order to continue to receive education benefits.
- Unpaid balances may result with student being blocked from attending classes.
- Purdue University employees and immediate family members are permitted to utilize the education benefit towards the following, with or without a Career Focus Area, Specialization or Emphasis Area, as applicable, per the respective curriculum (one per degree):
- 1 Associate
- 1 Bachelor
- 1 Master
- 1 Undergrad Certificate
- 1 Graduate Certificate
- No enrollments utilizing education benefits will be allowed within the two-week window prior to term start.
Purdue University employees using their education benefit are not required to complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) unless they wish to receive federal funding in addition to education benefit funds. The education benefit only applies to any remaining tuition balance after applying Title IV funds. Students utilizing their education benefit may receive federal financial aid once they are fully admitted to the University. If the employee qualifies for any federal, state or local grants or loans, those will be applied first to the student’s institutional costs (funds will be applied to the tech fee first, then tuitions) prior to applying the education benefit. The education benefit will cover remaining tuition balance after funds are applied.
Purdue University employees and immediate family members who apply for Federal Student aid must ensure he/she remain current on loan payments once grace period/deferment period has concluded.

Basic Steps:
- Choose your program (review available offerings at purdueglobal.edu)
- Choose your desired start date
- Complete and submit the Purdue Global Intake form
Important Note: Please make sure to complete all sections of the intake form including the Program of Study and desired start date. This will ensure that you are contacted by the appropriate Purdue Global team member to assist you in the next steps of the admissions process. Failure to complete the form and submit in its entirety could result in a delay.
The Purdue Global Business Office will grant the final approval and application of initial and continuing education benefits based on the employee’s student status (i.e. in good standing), GPA, and satisfaction of any prior outstanding unpaid balances. Benefits will be applied to your account, if eligible, by the end of your active term.
If you are not eligible to continue receiving this benefit, you and any applicable immediate family members will receive an email notification. However, it is the student’s responsibility to maintain awareness of the minimum requirements for receiving, and continuing to receive, the education benefit.

Under current Federal laws, all or some portion of the Purdue Global Education benefits may be subject to income or FICA taxes. It is the policy of Purdue University to comply with Federal and State laws requiring the reporting of such income and withholding of such taxes. The University’s Human Resources Service Center will deduct the required tax withholdings from the employee’s regular paycheck during the semester period. An appropriate information return may be issued to an official retiree or to the Qualifying Surviving Spouse/Dependent of a deceased employee.
