Equipment Loan Program

The Equipment Loan program, designed to reduce the need for unnecessary purchases, is one of the most popular services provided by Indiana LTAP. Local agencies can borrow these items at no cost for temporary use or testing. We can provide training.

Items Available to Borrow

Indiana LTAP currently has the following equipment available for loan:

  • Traffic counters
  • Speed display signs
  • Sign kit (calibration signs and comparison panels)
  • Sign retroreflectometers
  • Radar gun
  • Resipod resistivity tester
  • Dynamic cone penetrometer
  • Radar traffic counter
  • Digital ball bank indicator
  • iPad Airs
  • Turning movement count board

Placing a Request

To place a request, contact LTAP directly via email or phone.

Time Limits and Waiting Lists

Equipment loan times are flexible, depending on your agency's needs and other existing requests for the items. Requests are met on a first-come, first-served basis. If an item is not available when your request is received, you will be added to a waiting list and notified when it becomes available.

Completing the Loan Process

Prior to receiving equipment, you must complete loan agreement paperwork and submit it to Indiana LTAP (attn: HELPERS Manager) via email. If you are requesting electronic equipment, you also will need to complete the electronics addendum form. Our office will provide you with the necessary paperwork.

Adding Equipment to the Loan List

If you have ideas for equipment that should be added to Indiana LTAP's Equipment Loan program, please contact our office. There are no guarantees, but we’re always looking to add new items as funding allows.
