The AIDS Coalition to Unleash Power (ACT UP) is a coalition of diverse individuals united in anger and committed to direct action to end the AIDS crisis. Our primary focus is the fight against AIDS and promote safer sex practices. This organization is an extension of ACT UP New York and an ongoing program affiliated with but not reliant upon the LGBTQ/History study abroad opportunity.
Delta Lambda Phi is a national fraternity providing dignified social, service, and recreational activities for gay, bisexual, and progressive men since 1986. The Alpha Beta chapter at Purdue has a strong tradition of helping its brothers improve in all aspects of life, including academics, service, and in building character.
Gamma Rho Lambda National sorority is a multicultural social sorority for women, trans-women, trans-men and non-binary students of any race, culture, or sexual orientation. Gamma Rho Lambda National Sorority is dedicated to providing a social support system for young college students.
Krannert OutSource aims to provide unity for the Krannert LGBTQ+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer & questioning, asexual, aromantic, ally and pansexual) community.
The Purdue LGBTQ+ Student Alliance is one of many umbrella organizations for the LGBTQ+ community of Purdue University. We hold many social events throughout the school year.
The Purdue University (“Purdue”) chapter of the National Gay Pilots Association (“NGPA”) serves as a safe environment for pilots and members of the aviation industry who are Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, or Queer (“LGBTQ”).
Our purpose is to raise awareness of the presence of LGBTQ+ individuals in STEM fields and to provide academic and professional services for these individuals, especially as it pertains to their LGBTQ+ identity. To this end, we aim to hold talks, have community events, interface with the CCO, and more. We also hope to connect LGBTQ+ Boilermakers in STEM fields at Purdue in an effort to build a strong community of support that lasts even after graduation.
Queer Students of Color strives to create an inclusive community that aims to empower and unite LGBTQ+ people of color. Creating an environment that promotes the experiences of LGBTQ+ people of color is necessary to have especially for those students who are isolated and/or wish to seek more information and history about underrepresented LGBTQ+ people of color in the United States.
