Purdue Employee Pride (PEP) welcomes new members to join supportive community. PEP was created to offer a safe and welcoming space for members of the Purdue University community who identify as lesbian, bisexual, gay, transgender, questioning, polyamorous, non-binary, gender fluid, and gender non-conforming. PEP seeks to provide a supportive and inclusive environment, aiming to offer resources, advocacy spaces, events, mentorship, and support to all faculty, staff, and graduate employees who identify or are questioning their gender identity and sexual orientation.
As recognized by PEP, transitions can be challenging and often uncomfortable. The organization is dedicated to creating an open and inviting atmosphere to welcome all members and allies. The primary objective of PEP is to create a space where everyone is included and feels supported, ensuring that no one feels forgotten or excluded. PEP acknowledges the importance of partnerships with local organizations, campus stakeholders, and allies, in creating an atmosphere of acceptance and love where individuals can thrive without the fear of discrimination or prejudice. Through collective efforts, PEP aims to encourage authentic relationships built on mutual respect and understanding, fostering a sense of belonging within the queer community at Purdue University.
To participate in this dynamic community, individuals are invited to fill out the membership form which provides access to the most up-to-date information on upcoming events and activities. PEP encourages all individuals, curious or interested in learning more to explore their community, by following their Instagram page @purduelgbtqpride. If individuals have any questions, PEP can be reached through direct message on Instagram or by email at employeepride@purdue.edu.
By joining Purdue Employee Pride, individuals gain access to a supportive community where they can learn, grow, and connect with others who value diversity and inclusivity. PEP provides a safe space for individuals to feel comfortable expressing their true selves, creating an environment that fosters growth, acceptance, and empowerment.
