K-12 Outreach

Connecting Purdue University scientists with elementary and secondary schools, students, teachers and families.

The College of Science K-12 Outreach programs provide science and mathematics professional development programs for K-12 teachers, establish long-term partnerships with school districts, and engage students in standards-based activities. Outreach Coordinators are expert educators who work collaboratively with elementary and secondary schools to develop standards-based, high-quality interactions that increase student learning.

Our goals are to:

Foster collaborative professional development: Provide mutually beneficial professional development and support for K-12 science and mathematics educators.

Develop and facilitate engagement programs: Create and implement engagement programs that ignite interest and enthusiasm in K-12 students for science and mathematics, fostering scientific literacy and efficacy while collaborating with educators, families, and local communities.

Broaden societal impact through collaborative partnerships: Facilitate opportunities for collaboration with higher education, industry, and government agencies, aiming to enhance scientific literacy and address community needs.
