About the Office for Postdoctoral Scholars
Purdue defines a postdoctoral scholar following the National Postdoctoral Association. A postdoctoral scholar, or "postdoc," is any individual holding a doctoral degree who is engaged in a temporary period of mentored research and/or scholarly training to acquire the professional skills needed to pursue a career path of their choosing.
It is Purdue's belief that postdocs make invaluable contributions to our research mission. The Office for Postdoctoral Scholars is designed to provide support to current postdocs as they navigate this important step in their educational training.
