Purdue Career Account: Eligibility
Faculty, staff, and students receive a base Purdue Career Account that allows access to specific services at Purdue.
This includes full and part-time faculty and staff, as well as regional campus faculty and staff. Some additional services
may be available to you, and are based on your affiliation with Purdue.

Students
Current Purdue students, including regional campus students, are eligible for a base Purdue Career Account (PCA). Base access includes the following services:
- Email access (@purdue.edu)
- MyPurdue
- Wireless and VPN
Students registered and taking classes at the West Lafayette and State-wide Tech campuses are eligible to use the West Lafayette instructional services. This includes:
- On-campus computer labs and file servers
- Off-campus file server access
- Distributed Academic Computing Services (DACS)
- Personal web page
Newly registered West Lafayette and State-wide Tech students, access to these services is normally available one month prior to your first semester at Purdue University. Students must be registered for classes before full access can be granted.
Faculty and Staff
Current Purdue faculty and staff members, including regional campus faculty and staff, are eligible for a base Purdue Career Account (PCA). Base access includes the following services:
- Email access (@purdue.edu)
- OnePurdue
- Wireless and VPN services
West Lafayette and State-Wide Technology faculty and staff are eligible to use the West Lafayette instructional services. This includes:
- On-campus computer labs and file servers
- Off-campus file server access
- Distributed Academic Computing Services (DACS
- Personal web page
For new faculty and staff, the Purdue Career Account is created approximately one business day after the personnel action form has been processed.
If access to these services is required prior to their start date, departments may submit the personnel action form up to 30 days prior to the employee's start date.
Guest Access
Guests to Purdue that require access to resources such as the Purdue Air Link (PAL) wireless service may request short term access from a departmental computing support staff member, or from the ITaP Customer Service Center on the main floor of the Humanities, Social Science, and Education Library (HSSE) - Stewart Center 135.
Purdue Affiliates
Some affiliates with Purdue may be granted a base Purdue Career Account, depending on the business need. The sponsoring department's business office must file a Request for Privileges form with Human Resources (HR) in request this access.
