College can be overwhelming for parents and students alike. Here are some resources to help parents support their student’s journey at Purdue.

These sessions are facilitated by Purdue undergraduates who have excelled in the course and can share valuable insights and strategies for success.

Improvement of Study Skills

Consultations are individual sessions with a professional staff member and are available by appointment only. They cover academic skills and strategies for time management, studying for exams, and reaching other academic goals.
- Academic Success workshops: Does your student need help creating a final exam study plan, taking notes efficiently, or improving time management skills? Attend an Academic Success Center Workshop.
Adjustment to College Life
- Peer Success Coaching: If your student is struggling with adjusting to college academically, socially, or personally and would like to talk to a peer who has navigated those obstacles meet with a Peer Success Coach (PSC). A PSC is a point-person who can guide students as they navigate life at Purdue. They function as guides, listeners, and motivational partners but not as tutors, instructors, parents, or academic advisors.
Motivation and Accountability
- Accountability Groups: Is your student struggling with motivation and accountability? Studying or working on homework can sometimes feel isolating and may lead to reduced productivity or procrastination. Attending an accountability group could help them engage with their peers while completing their work.
Support from Home
- Academic Success Center handouts: Students looking to thrive from home can utilize some of the Academic Success Center’s handouts. These handouts include worksheets to organize syllabi, create test study plans, and manage schedules.
