Professor and Department Head of Languages and Cultures

Jen William is Professor of German and Head of the School of Languages and Cultures (SLC) at Purdue. Her teaching and research specializations are 20th- and 21st-century literature, film, and cognitive studies. Along with journal articles and book chapters on these topics, she has published three monographs and has co-edited three essay volumes. Her prior leadership roles include Chair of German and Russian, Associate Head of SLC, and Provost Fellow for Faculty Awards and Recognition. Jen currently serves on the Modern Language Association’s Executive Committee for the Association of Language Departments.
