Nexus at the 2019 American Geophysical Union (AGU) Fall Meeting

The Nexus team presented their latest research and developments at the American Geophysical Union 2019 fall meeting in the Arequipa Region, Peru. The AGU is a nonprofit organization of Earth, atmospheric, ocean, hydrologic, space and planetary scientists. The meeting highlighted the rapid development in earth and planetary science research, including the introduction of new data streams and the discussion of the growing demand for accessible science.
Additionally, two Nexus members shared their leadership experience in a panel highlighting Purdue's large-scale sustainability research and global engagement projects. The panel, An Evening with Purdue Sustainability Leaders, took place at the 2019 AGU on December 10 in San Francisco, CA, and was organized by the PCCRC and co-sponsored by C4E. The Nexus members are featured below:
- Laura Bowling, Professor in the Department of Agronomy, Co-Director of the Natural Resources and Environmental Science Program; Principal Investigator of the "Sustainable Development for the Water, Energy and Food Nexus: A framework for Sustainable Water Management (SWM) in the Arequipa Region" project.
- Tim Filley, Professor in the Departments of Earth, Atmospheric and Planetary Sciences and Agronomy; Director of the Discovery Park Center for the Environment and the Arequipa Nexus Institute and Principal Investigator of the " Soil health, impairment, and vulnerability assessment (SHIVA)" project.
